2020 TRD Off Road Premium: Tire Pressure Display

Hello.

I recently have gone through an ordeal of "upgrading" the stock tires to all-terrain tires because I had Moab plans. It was an ordeal because I bought tires online - but that is a different story.

A while after the new tires were installed, I was simply playing around the instrument panel and I noticed there is a feature where you can have the pressure recalibrated? Any way, I pressed and held the button and now the display shows blank where pressure used to appear.

I don't know exactly how the tire pressure information is transmitted to the car's instrument panel. I contacted the tire center and they said it is part of the pressure valve and every time they deal with tires on a car they rebuild those pressure valves.

Could their rebuilding be the reason for blanks in places where pressures are usually indicated or is there something else that I am not doing.

I am taking the car in this weekend for them to see if the valves are sending signals or not.

There’s no rebuilding. It’s reprogramming, and it’s really simple if you’ll read you user manual.

What tire stores such as Discount Tire call "rebuilding", is just replacing the seal between the wheel and TPMS, sometimes the valve core, and sometimes the nut that holds the TPMS in place.

There’s no rebuilding. It’s reprogramming, and it’s really simple if you’ll read you user manual.

Did you look in your owners manual ?
It states it in the manual how to perform the initialize function.
In the time it took you to call the “tire center” and listen to some BS, you could have looked it up and performed the function.

Well actually I didn't have the manual handy, but I did think about calling my Dealership's Service Center but I knew I would be on hold for a long time. I thought this process would have been more straightforward and instructions would be provided on the display, I did eventually find it in the manual and they are more involved than I thought.

I just picked up a 21 Trd orp over the weekend and did the same, swapped over my wheels from my 4th gen and the tire shop broke one of my sensor. After getting a new sensor and selected change wheel on the instrument panel, I drove for about 15mins above 25mph and the low tire pressure light went off and the tire pressure came on by itself.
