2021 SR5 - How disable GPS and maps screen?

Hi comrades - newbie member here. Just purchased a '21 SR5-Premium, but bummed that I had to auction my '06 due to a rotted frame member.

I'm proudly old-fashioned when it comes to most things in life. Less is more. That also goes for cell phones, and the electronics on my new rig.

-- At my request, Toyota has disabled all of the "connected services" that come with the truck. (When I'm driving, I want to be disconnected; AM and FM radio are all I want, although it's too bad a CD player isn't standard anymore.)

-- I figured out how to turn off both screens on the dashboard. Visual silence ... what a relief.

-- A question for you: how can I turn off (disable) the GPS function, and also turn off the "map" screen? I don't need or want either of these in the truck.

Any ideas? Many thanks!

Anyway, there are options to customize what shows up on the home screen. I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can take the map off of the home screen. IIRC, you have to have at least two of something on it with a maximum of four.

I don't think you can outright disable the overall map/GPS function (heck, you'd have to dig out the button for it!), but at least you might be able to take it off of your home screen.

I hope you don’t have a smart phone because alphabet and apple are tracking and mining your information far more efficiently than a car company that wouldn’t know what to do with it in the first place.
