At the very least, they should have carried over the Limited's AWD system since it's supposed to be such a road-focused 4Runner. It would be the best choice for most people if Toyota offered a non-bling model with the AWD system. As it stands, this new model is pretty much pointless.

Toyota is running out of ideas now that the 4Runner is EOL. Pretty much anything here on out is pointless until we see the 6th gen.
 
Question will be how much will it cost compared to the limited. I saw TRD sport and thought it would have a new suspension like the trd sport sequoia that you could swap to the limited down the road. Will be curious to see what the 2022 limited will be like.
But why call it a trd sport if it has the same suspension as the limited?
 
they should just go back to 3 trims, SR5, Limited and Trail. have a premium package for the SR5 like they do now and 1 or 2 premium packages on the trail to basically upgrade it to a TRD PRO or off road premium

I'll second this. Fewer trims but more options.

The Car and Driver write up made it sound like it does have the Limited AWD system…

“ It'll slot in just over the SR5 base model in the 4Runner's lineup, and it's available with either rear- or four-wheel drive with a two-speed transfer case just like the Limited.”

Seems like it fills a hole in the lineup. I’m not interested, but the price should be just above an SR5…?
 
Has anyone seen whether the 2022's have BSM?
