Most who drive these do not take them off road or use their full capabilities, however they still use them in areas with a snow or the beach. They don't need better angles, nor larger tires, etc. Toyota would lose more sales than they would gain with those changes. This is my DD, I especially do not want removeable top and doors, nor do the overwhelming majority of people I see driving them. Again, sure it might make those looking at the Bronco or a Jeep reconsider, but they would lose the sales of myself and pretty much every other DD of these. We are a forum of enthusiasts, and unfortunately, what people want on here does not translate to increased sales in the 'real world. They need to keep it a mix of off-road capable yet refined for daily use as well. If they get a nice balance they will appeal to the most buyers possible.
