223,000 on my Limited, Do I start to worry for road trips?

I'm at 410,000 and I wouldn't think twice about driving cross-country. As long as you stay up to date on maintenance, you should be good.

Thanks for all the info. I have recently done, the radiator, added a trans cooler.
Did the timing belt, Water pump. New shocks and struts, new brakes, new rotors and drums. New air filter, OEM front end parts. I have done all the fluids, replaced the battery, new tires. New plugs wires and OEM coils.
She runs very well and works great. We spent 2 days in Sedona driving the trails.
Broken Arrow and the rim.
I will drive a little more confident now!

286,847 on my 97 sr5. Don’t worry and drive it. Just do all the maintenance and belt(s) waterpump and your good to go.

We drove our 96 3rz to Mexico 2 winters in a row. 25,000 km round trip each time.

The truck is as good as the maintenance you have given it, or as bad as the lack of.

LBJs & radiator every 200K, timing belt and water pump at something more frequent than 100K. All I've done beyond that is change the fluids when I'm supposed to and drive it all over the world. The more miles the better. One of these decades, I'll have the highest mileage 4Runner on the forum.:lasercannon:

Cruised my 99 with 245k from OR to MI in the winter... went like a champ.

I know it is slightly different, but the advice I read on here once that I liked was that if you think you can make it through to your next oil change with no issues, a 1000-2000mi trip shouldn't be a problem.

Highway driving is relatively easy on vehicles. I think you're much better off in a high mileage 4Runner that you know the history of than a 50k Kia with no records. Plus the 3.4 is common enough to find parts for virtually anywhere if things do go south. I have taken my 320k Tacoma and now my 265k 4Runner on many 2,000+ mile road trips without issue.
