The old gasket is stuck on, I am trying to use a scraper but not having much luck. It is stuck on pretty good. Anyone havew any tips or ideas to help get it off?

There is some spray-on gasket softener stuff but darn if I can think of what it's called. Other than that scrap harder.

I got mine off with a wire wheel in a 4" grinder. It gets the gasket completely off and gives the surface a nice prep for the new one. I also used a razor blade scraper too, but the wheel did most of the dirty work. I also used the Permatex gasket remover spray which helped some but of course didn't work as advertised.

The wire wheel is also nice for cleaning the parts to make it look nicer too.

I've also seen a big following for the 3M revloc pads for your drill. The revloc's are the little green ones. They do nice work.

You can get a wire wheel and a grinder (if you don't have one) for $25 at Harbor freight.
