I recently acquired an 86 4Runner turbo. I was wondering how the engines are different i.e. pistons/headers/intake manifold etc and how these differences affect performance upgrade direction.
Basically I would like to know how I would go about modifying the turbo Engine and what I should be looking for that's different from the nonturbo in terms of performance upgrades.
I'm also very curious how the engine itself is different. I know they automatically put lower ratio rear gears on it.
