The BF Goodrich LONG TRAIL T/A is classified as a TOURING tire. It was featured in Off-Road Adventure magazine July 2008 issue. According the Handling Performance Test, whein they use RAV4, BFG Long Trail is better in braking and Cornering than other leading brands. The wide channels in the Thread fights hydroplaning.
I have the BFG "RADIAL" Long Trail T/A(not the same tire above) which is super quite in highways, never experience hydroplaning and also good in light snow. BFG Radial Long Trail is an "ALL Season" tire, and looks aggressive because of the Outlined White Letters. But then, there are AT tires in these price range that will serve your purpose.
