I'd love to have it. but 23k? it just doesn't seem worth it to me. BTW this has been on my local CL for a month or so. He took 2 cars and made it one, so it's not original.
83 LANDCRUISER BJ60 TURBO DIESEL / 5SPEED
I just don't see it..
what do you guys think?
It's pretty, but I feel like he's trying to make a buck off someone.

That thing is sweeeeeet. I don't know too much about the pricing of these things but I feel like that's not too off price wise. But you can always make the argument that it doesn't have some original equipment, especially the engine.
Offer $17,500.

With a 3B in it, it is a little optimistic. However, that isn't out of the range of what some sell for. Especially in nice shape.

I work at a LandCruiser specialty shop, and I have seen them go for well north of that. Albeit, with some alterations.

Some things it has going for it:

1. 5speed conversion; No Cruiser ever in the USA ever came with a 5speed. The H55F 5 speed is far and above the 4speed.

2. Super clean, though "body work" usually just means bondo and paint to hide the damage. Fender rot on these is ALWAYS accompanied by frame rust. 100% of the time. And Since the BJ60 was only in Canada, you can bet it saw lots of salt.

3. Diesel. Because.....diesel!

Some things it has against it:

1. 3B Engine. Probably the slowest LC diesel ever invented. And the 3B was never Turbocharged, meaning someone added a Turbo and who knows if that was done correctly.

2. Regular roof; for those unfamiliar with the High-roof, it was a very nice option that allowed much more interior headroom and storage space.

3. Semi-float rear end. Again, because this was a converted US spec cruiser, it doesn't have the Full float rear axle.

4. Its NOT a BJ60, its a converted FJ60.

if this was a truly mint BJ60 you might be close to that price. Or if it was an HJ61 in this shape you shouldn't have any trouble selling it. But a converted FJ60 just isn't worth that much coin.

Cut out a lot, basically It's a one of a kind. He's selling it as a one of a kind but there's only so much one would pay for that. I guess I figured out why it has been sitting for a month. :tongue1:

Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. I like it, but I'd never pay anywhere near that. You could find a good clean used stock LC and do the diesel conversion yourself for less than that. And you could find one with a more appealing interior/exterior color combo...

I agree on the interior. that brown looks good in those pics though.. Also, i'm not a stock guy. I'm not gonna buy a car and worship how it's stock. I'm gonna lift it, but bigger tires on it, and beat it up. I could buy a 4k fj60 and beat that up. or a nice 4runner for 4k and beat it up. If I spend 20k on a vehicle, I just couldn't beat it up.
