Will this size fit OE 17" rims? I'm looking for some tires here and the one I want either comes in 255/75/17 6/C or 265/70/17 which is 10/E rated. I affraid E load rating is way too much for 4Runner and ride will be too harsh. They $200 more for set of 4 too. So I'm leaning to 255/75/17 will they fit stock 17" wheel? Thanks.

Thats a 32" tire, will they even fit NOT lifted 2004 4Runner?

Yes, they will fit fine. This might be the size I go with for my next set of tires.

E rated tires will ride like a dump truck. Unless you carry excessive weight, don't get E.

The BFG MudTerrains went on sale a while back, $100/tire. Several folks jumped on that deal...

What is excessive weight? And are you referring to towing, or just loading up like the Griswald's on the way to Wally World?

Yes, towing would qualify. As would added gear like bumper, sliders, skids, winch, etc.

A couple of guys have had the 255/75 BFG MT's without a lift. IIRC no issues or very minor fender relocation. In both cases it was short lived because they upgraded to a lift. Spaceman had 275/70/17's, no lift with minor rubbing. The 255/75 is the same height and narrower.

Depends on a tire brand. After a lengthy research I came to conclusion that 265/70/17 Firestone Destination M/T will not fit without a lift and barelly fits with 3/2 and 1.5" BL so dont even attempt it on this tire. 255/75/17 yet slightly bigger.

265/65/17 is stock tire size.... 265/70/17 tires fit on STOCK suspension. I think you may be mis-informed.

not, I'm not mis-informed. As I said tire of a same size from every manufacture is in fact will be very different with actuall measurments depending or M/T vs All-season etc. Go see it in person, I put OE Cross Terrains beside 265/70/17 Destination M/T and Michlens are WAY smaller.
On pictures bellow shown 265/70/17 Destination M/T with 3" Toytec Ultimate lift and 1.5 BL. Please dont tell me these same shoes will fit without a lift. I'm not talking width here, I'm talking overall ACTUAL (not claimed) diameter of a tire.

I have 255/75/17 BFG mud terrains they were on before my leveling kit and fit fine front and rear

BFG measures a lot smaller than other tire brands, so yes, I know they will fit without a lift

I just put my 255 75 17 BFG Muds on my 4runner and they fit fine WITHOUT the lift. However i do have a daystar lift on order.

For those that claim to have no issues with 255/75/17, have you guys confirmed this when the suspension is flexed (aka off-road or up a high curb)?? Just wanted to clarify it for future members.
