265/70r18 Tire Fits in Spare!

Got my near full size spare yesterday. To my surprise, I was able to fit a 265/70r18 tire in the stock tire location. This is a 32.6" tire, but the same width as the stock tires. Depending on what size wheels your rig came with, it might make a good option for people out there running 285's, etc.

Now, you do have to air the tire down, raise it, and air it back up, but the tire does not hit the pan hard bar, and it does not require any modifications to the spare tire area. This is all on a v8 with the bigger tow hitch.

Makes me think I probably could have saved some coin and gone with this size for all 5, keeping my 18" wheels. Still would have concerns about this size clearing the stock UCAs up front.

I heard that its a bad practice to deflate the tire before fitting it as once you inflate it again its not going to be perfectly round (due to the limited space) and it will loose its shape (same reason why tires are stored on their sides); YMMV I guess

I wouldn't do it if the tire was seriously not going to fit. I'm this case, we're talking about a tenth of an inch. Same effect as less tread to be honest.

It's a valid concern though.
