265/75/16 on '00 SR5

So after lots of research and reading through the forum I think I have decided on a tire for this winter (and hopefully subsequent winters.) I'm planning on going with the Goodyear SilentArmors but am still a bit uncertain about the size. My understanding from these forums was that most people can get 265/75/16's on their runner with no rubbing but I also have read that the '00 SR5 stock coils are a bit shorter than others.

So, would 265/75/16's fit on my 2000 SR5 with no rubbing (currently with running boards still on)? What about w/o running boards? I really want the 75's, I like the taller look and am not in love with my current 265/70's.

I'm almost 100% positive you can still run them on your 2000 w/o rubbing. I've had them on my 98' since day one of purchase and there is no rubbing or anything. You've gotta go up to 285/75/16's to start rubbing and worrying about that stuff. You should be good.
 
we had our BFG ATs in 265x75x16 on our 2k highlander edition 4x4 4runner with stock suspension with no problems... with stock running boards.

we then upgraded to performance products springs and bilstien shocks about 4 months later.

I put the 265/75's on and they fit just fine! No rubbing and the larger tires look MUCH better on the rig. Snowboarding tomorrow!!!!
 
265/75-16 will fit just fine. Not all tires are exactly the same height. Bfg a/t ko's are the biggest usually and they only would rub if there is any body damage. Also when you go to a 75 series tire you get the "LT" rating( or light truck) so you get about another 1/8"-1/4" deeper tread.... Which is always good, right?! Anyways. Go big! Good luck
 
Just put 265/75/16 Nitto TGs on my 2001 limited

Fit perfect. Awesome tire by the way :cool:

I have that size on my 02 limited, however, that is with about 4" of lift but think you will be ok with stock.
 
Well I'm glad all of you have no issues with 265/75's. I've got a set of 265/75 Firestone Destination AT's on my 2000 4Runner Sport, and when I turn into parking lots & the like I get rubbing on the front passenger side. It was really bad with running boards, and after I took the boards off it still rubs some.

I bet if I hammered the pinch weld it'd solve my problem, but for me 265/75 with no modification equals rubbing.

I've got a set of 99 tall coils, and a new set of TrekMasters in the garage that's going to be installed in March. That should also remedy the problem, but I'm still going to take care of the pinch weld while I'm there.

The bigger tire definitely looks better though! I've had them on for just over a year and it still looks good.
