265/75/16 rubbing problem

I just purchased a 1999 SR5 4wd , it is bone stock with 113,000. Picked up some 265/75/16(up from the 265/70/16 that were on it)and they are rubbing on full turn with minimal compression. I already want to take off my running boards, will that alone fix my issue? Another question, i have fender flares, not the huge limited type, the small thin black flares. Are these mounted from underneath the fender or through the fender. I would love to take them off because i have never been a fan of flares, but i dont want holes on the side of my ride.

Any info would be helpful.

yes you can take them off with no problem. I'm interested on your fenders. I will buy it off from you. Post pictures...

Sounds good. As soon as the weather decides to calm down all of that is coming off. You''ll know as soon as they hit the driveway. I have pics i just need to upload them.

I'll buy your flares if 4x4snowrunner doesn't!

you may have to trim the inner fender, part of the mudflap, and hammer in the pinchweld. that should be sufficient.

It just seems to rub in the rear of the well if the tire turned in. From what i saw it was just the trim and the bolt holding it in.

Fender flares are still on the truck! lol When they come off i'll post it, as for now 4x4snowrunner has dibbs...

With your orders already on the mail. you don't need to hammer your pinch weld like ChildrenOfBodom suggested. It will clear your tire.

I was hoping it would. Every post ive seen says no problem with that size on stock stats. But of course...I had a problem! But they should be here soon so we'll see how that works out.
 
I doubt it's rubbing on your pinch weld. I bet it's the frame. Check to see if there are rub marks on your frame.

You can get spacers or different wheels with less backspacing.

It's not the frame, it is part of the running boards or the flares. Some part of the plastic and mounting bolts. Nothing a sledge and sawzaw wont fix!!!!!!!!!!!
 
No need to do modification. You just have to unscrew the bolts. First work on running board and then to fender flares. Spray the bolts with PB Blaster for a couple of days it's good to soak before you unscrew the bolts so it won't break.

That's weird, because I've never had mine rub against the running boards on my 98 Limited or even my 02 (lowest of the 4Runners).

Yeah mine has the same problem...It scrubs on the front part of my fender flare but as soon as its lifted i will have no more problems...:jump:
 
The factory wheels have different back spacing depending on the style, I think. I want to get the 265/75/16s but don't want rubbing issues. Can you guys post up a pic of your wheels and say whether or not it rubs?
