265/75 Tire fit on 2001/2002

Looking for any pics guys of 01 or 02 T4R's "the lowrider years" with 265/75R16 on completely stock suspension. I will be buying new tires soon, and want to go with the 265/75's instead of my stock 265/70's. In the future, I wanna do an OME 2" max with new shocks and coils, and want atleast one size larger tire than stock to go with the liift. I only wanna buy once, and will be getting the tires before my lift. Just don't want my fenders/wheelwells to chew up my new 75's ( If I get them) in the meantime.

Also, any pics of small (2") lifted Runners with the 265/75's are welcome as well, as this is what I will be going with. I really just want a nice solid suspension to replace the weary stock setup, and clear some new treads. Also, any mileage differences between your old 70's and new 75's that is noticeable??

Doesnt really answer either of your requests, but to give an idea of what 265/75's look like on a stock 99' which I believe sits about 1" taller than 01-02's. Bear in mind mine has 164k on it so I am sure some settling has occured.

Literally the worst year (no offence) that could have been posted, 01 and 02's were a couple inches shorter than the rest of the years, i guess they weren't cool enough for big boy springs, but i definetly notice 01's sitting shorter than mine, with the exception of LINY's.

Thanks for the replies guys. John, I couldn't agree with you more and other than possibly trying to market the 4-Runner to the soccer mom's, etc.. I can't understand why they would change the spring height. IMO, the T4R looks so much better with that extra inch or two on the previous years. Still would like to see some 01's and 02's with the 265/75's though.

in response to the whole Firestone/Ford Explorer thing, they pulled the height down.

No chew on my 02. Mileage - when you drive 2,900 miles you really went 3,000. 65mph is 67mph. So no biggie.

Maybe I'm the exception rather than the rule, but my speedometer stayed exactly correct when I made the jump to 265/75's from 265/70's. I tested it with the GPS and it was always spot on.

I think what he means is that going by milage it's only like drivin a couple more MPH faster at 65 meaning you are getting the milage of driving at 67MPH I think anyway..

Is this at all speeds? I've too upgraded from 265/70s to 265/75s and noticed a small difference at high speeds.

I've compared my speedometer to my gps too and both match until I get to around 76mph. By the time I hit 80mph, my speedometer reads 78mph, yet my gps says I'm doing 80mph. The difference between the two gradually increases the faster I drive above 80mph.

But again, all speeds at or below 75mph and my speedometer matches my gps. Then again I'm also running Ivan stewart 16x8 wheels. Although I believe they weigh the same as stock 16x7 toy wheels.

Your speedometer had to be off either before or after the switch. You can't go with an inch taller tire and have the speedometer be the exact same as it was...that's impossible.

It increases in a percentage. At lower speeds the diffrence is minimal.

On the other hand, with my 35's, it throws me off at about 47mph, and increases exponentially from there on up...

It's about a 3% difference so it's pretty negligible. In most cases if your speedo is reading 70mph you probably are doing a 72 at the most. It's not like the +1 size change is going to throw things very far out of whack.

almost all speedometers read fast. my 2000 read about 5% fast. when i upgraded from 225's to 31's. it read dead accurate after that.

Your speedo may have been off before then, because car makers are alloted like 5% off in either direction of actual speed, or something like that.

boo for stock 28.3" tires! 60 for me = 67

I'm curious about the same topic; I'm planning to throw the 99 coils on my 02 and go with 265/75's, and I was always curious if they would fit without rubbing everything in the wheel well.
