275 65 18

Hey everybody,

I tried searching to see if anyone has run 275 65 18 or a 265 70 18 without a lift and also did not have rubbing issues. I was looking at the Michelin LTX MS Defender tire.

I'm thinking about changing from 17 to 18 inch wheels and putting it on 2006 4wd.

I found a couple of posts where people may have possibly run the 275 65 18, but they all had lifts from what i could tell.

Any info would be appreciated... or if someone could tell me how to search when the query is 3 characters or less e.g. 275 ????

I have 275/70/17s, basically same size, and I am telling you that you would need a hell of a lot of trimming to fit them. With a 3 inch lift, I still had to trim a ton on the fender liner, bumper, and removing all mudflaps.

I was about to go with this wheel size. What offset wheel are you using? Do you have a different size you would go with to not have to trim the bumper? 3 inch lift as well.

I have the Daystar 2.5/1.5 lift on my 2008. I have the Limited 18" wheels with 275 65 18 Michelin LTX A/T2 tires on them and had to move the fender well liner forward and install new mounting bolts to hold it in place. They rub the UCA when I turn the wheel fully. I had the lift before I got the tires, so I can't compare how it would be with the stock suspension.

I have Toyo A/T's on factory 18s. But I have king coilovers(believe it's a 2" lift??) and TC UCA.

I get rubbing at small window of 85-90% to lock.

275/65/r18 here....im on an icon 2.5" lift and i still had to trim a pretty good chunk off the fender liners on the front and removed all the mudflaps

I doubt you can fit 275 w/o lift and trimming

I have stock sport rims, with 1.25 wheel spacers. I say that the minimal trimming is worth it for the 275's. If you are REALLY against trimming, maybe 265's would be a better options, but imho I think they look too small

I dont mind to trim the fender liner plastic. But I'm wondering about the actual fender/bumper itself? I may be getting my definitions mixed up...

I have 275/70-17 KO2s on stock Sport wheels w/o spacers and I did have to trim the corner of the bumper slightly. Not a large amount though, no more than a 1/4"

They rub the UCAs in front and frame in rear at full lock plus the aforementioned fender liner. I did not have any problems with mudflaps though.

I have 5100s on the highest setting and FJ coils in the rear.

So I found this thread. My measurements are similar to his and going with the same wheels and offset but with Toyo Open Country II's. So this has me hopeful. Currently have about 3.5in of lift in the front.

I cant remember my stock tire size, I think they are 32's.. 2006 V8 Sport edition...

But I put on the same size BFG KO2's and at full wheel like theres a TINY hint of a rub.

I'm glad I didnt go larger.

265/65-17, or about 30.5"
