285/60/18 on 18x9 +18 5.7" Backspace Fit?

I'm new to the forum. I've got a set of Helo Max 18x9 +18 with a 5.7" backspace from a buddy for dirt cheap last night. They have 285/60/18 (~31.5") tires on them with 9/32" tread remaining.

What would I need to do to make these fit my 2000 SR5 4x4? I know the stock 16x7's have a 4.55" backspacing so I'm losing about 1.1" inner clearance and an additional 0.4" from the wider tires - basically 1.5" inner clearance lost plus the fact that the tire is 1" taller than stock which is usually not the problem.

If I can't get them to feasibly fit, I'll probably either replace the tire to a narrower one or just put new tires on my OEM rims.

You're going to have major rubbing on the UCA's

They might be doable if you have 1.25 or 1.5" wheel spacers. I don't think that is very ideal though. You would be using wheel spacers just to get you back to stock BS. I'd try to turn around and sell them and get wheels with less BS with that money, or just new tires.

If I add a 1.25-1.5" spacer, should I expect rubbing on the outer side when steering?

I'm leaning towards new tires. When you say new tires, do you mean new tires for my stock 16" wheels or new tires for the 18x9's such as 265/60/18? Thanks.

From what I have seen of guys around here with 285/75's, I don't think you would, but you may still end up with rubbing on the UCA's. I think most guys with 16x7's and 285's come real close to having a rubbing problem. At least that's what it looks like from the pics I see. I don't have 285's, so I can't really say for sure.

I meant new tires for your stock rims. Your problem really is with the rims, not the tires. You could mount the rims up and see what kind of clearance you end up with, just estimating where the tires will be.

If I put in a 1.5" spacer bringing me to a backspace of 4.2", would I need to get spacers for just the front?

I paid about $250 for this set that came off a GMC Sierra BTW, so if I drop in spacers, I'm sitting at around $320-$390 total depending on whether I'll be need just front spacers or both front/rear ones.

Alternatively, I can just sell the wheels to my uncle or something for his Silverado and get 265/75/16 Destination AT's for my stock 16x7's which would technically cost more.

Just try putting them on.......they look like a pretty sweet looking wheel! If no issues, then your golden! If you need the spacers....no biggie.....

Hey guys, new to the forum. I drive a stick 01 4runner with 265/70/r16 wheels. I recently received a set of 265/60/r18's off of an 07 4runner. Would that fit on my rig without any adjustments?
