285/70/17 for spare

I know iDrivaT4R has a used 285 under his Trail w/kdss I am just wondering if anybody else has stuffed a new 285 under their Trail w/kdss. I am getting a brand new 285/70/17 BFG AT KO for $150 mounted and balanced doesn't exactly match my KM2's but for $150 it will do if I get a flat and need to get it home.

I've just been through this exercise. I've just mounted a new 285/70R17 Hercules TerraTrac A/T as a spare (picked it up for $100) and it does indeed fit.

What you may not like is that the 11.5" section width of a 285/70R17 tire will have it sitting lower than your rear diff .. not by much but it is lower.

I have a Trail/KDSS. My brand new KM2 285 fits just fine. Tight but fine.
