285/75/17 BFG Km2's

Just installed the BFGoodrich KM2's in the 285/75/17 load E. The factory specs are 11.3 x 33.9 and weigh 63 pounds. Stock sport rims weighed 26 pounds, so these are about 89 pounds on each corner.

In reality, they are a tall, skinny tire and measured about 33.5 tall and 10.5 wide - not as big as I thought they'd be - but really a perfect sized tire for this trucks setup.

I compared these to my old 275/70/18 - and the km2s are slightly taller and a bit narrower then the Duratracs. The KM2's have a slow speed rumble, then smooth out nice and quiet about 10mph.

These definitely look good in person.

Not many people running this size, but I'd have to say, they are a great practical big 33.:thumb3:

Those tires are great. I ran 33 inch KM2's on my JK and they are phenomenal on the trail. Stepped up to Trail Grapplers in a 35 after that, but they're damn heavy. KM2 is a great compromise in weight and performance.

NICE! You beat me to getting mine on. Going with +2'' suspension in the front with FJ steelies so I'm waiting to do the body mount chop until I get them on(if they even need to be chopped at that point).

They really are nice and tall/skinny. I was super pumped to find that after mounting one up.


You running a body lift?

I am running a 1 inch BL. Even then, I think you can run this size and not rub too bad. I body mount chop is needed I'd think. Otherwise, it's a great size. Again, not has big as I though it might be...just perfect really. Tall and skinny and burly. I will say, having this be my first m/t tire, they run a bit loud. Loud enough to remind you that it's a burly tire. Not super confidence inspiring on the canyon highways, but ok. The duratracs I was running seemed to like the road better, but the tradeoff was expected switching to an m/t. On the trail, they seem to be more capable.

Do you think you would be able to get away without your body lift and hammering down the pinch welds?

My initial reaction is 'yes' instead of 'no' - however, I think the body lift only helps while in full articulation offroad. I don't have my welds hammered down yet, and no rubbing while offroading.
