285's on stock rim

I've read a few different threads about not being able to run a 285/75 tire without spacers on the stock 4runner rim so I was wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge or if its just what they read on a forum? People told me i couldnt run a 285/75/17 on my 05 limited i use to have on the stock wheel and it fit fine so i was wonder if any one has the split 3 spoke 4runner sr5 wheels with the 285/75 tire without spacers.

I'm running 285/75R16s on the stock split 3-spokes. In order to run these tires, you'll need a lift. Now if it's a body lift, you'll be fine without spacers. If it's a suspension lift, the a-arms will be put at a steeper angle, causing the front tires to sit closer to the upper a-arms, which will make a 285 rub unless you use at least a .25" spacer.

285s on stock 5stars same as the 3 spilt there really to close to the upper a arm so i run 1/4'' spacers

where are you guys buying the .25" spacer? the only ones ive looked at are the spider trax and those are 1.25"

I ran 285/75/16 with stock 5 star rims with no spacers..

wheelers offroad has the 1/4" spacers and they are dirt cheap. I have a 3" lift and could not run my 285s on stock rims without hitting the upper a arm.

Make yourself happy and get the Wheelersoffroad.com 1/4" spacers. that way you dont have to worry about it later just get them for the front if you want. or both doesnt matter.
