295/75/16 Tires? Anyone running them? Gearing?

So I am thinking of putting some new tires on the rig and thinking about some Nitto 295 75 16 tires. It's a 33.68 in diameter so 34 rounded off.

Currently I have 4.30 gearing. Yeah it lugs a little but with the ECT button on all the time does okay with my 285 75 16 tires.

So with these new tires do I just regear to 4.88's or go with 5.29 gears. All suggestions and comments welcomed.

I think you'd be ok even with the 4.30s but if you have the money to spend then a regear would be nice. If you have no plans to go to 35's and drive a lot of highway I would stick with 4.88s.

I know there are at least a couple on the forum with the 295 tires but I can't remember who at the moment.

4runit has Nitto Trail Grappler 295's and he hates the lack of power with 4.10's. Granted you are 4.30's, but it's not that much of a difference. Go with 4.88's and 295's and you'll be good to go.

i'm running 295/75/16 hankook rt03 tires. i did not experience any noticeable power loss coming from 305/70/16's. the difference in overall diameter is pretty minimal (~1.7%).
