2door 2nd gen

i spotted a rare (i think) 2 door 2nd gen last week. i didnt even know these existed. has anyone else seen one? does anyone actually own one? it was odd at first but i really liked it and would like to have one...

Yeah those are cool with the triangle windows.

The reason they are rare is because there was an import tarrif imposed on the 2-door suv's-- which is why Toyota stopped and Nissan stopped the 2-door Pathfinders

Later, that law was deemed illegal and the companies were refunded millions$$.

Wonder why they put a tarrif on them?

Ya think it hurt sales on 2 door S-10/Jimmy's/Explorers?

They tarriffed the imports only- which is why they stopped making them.

I *think* that is why they ultimately won the lawsuit (or whatever it is they did to reverse the tarrifs) is because the domestic makers had a lock on the 2-door suv market with no import competition.

That is why I was asking why they tarriffed them (imports). Did not know if the American Auto Makers did some pushing (stop competition) so it would not hurt the sales of their Blazer's, Explorer's, and so on....

I MISS MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My second runner was a 90 2door, I wish it was a 5spd though, but looking back that was a fun truck... I wouldn't mind getting another one of those to build, solid axle conversion and about a 5" lift and see if it could tuck 35's. With the slightly shorter wheel base it got around pretty good.
