2H to 4H not working (kind of)

If memory serves, just the actuator costs $950. Add about $1000-2000 for labor and that is a ball park figure. So yeah, excercise that bad boy!

1000 to 2000. Try 1750 to 2250. Then the extra grand of the actuator. Yes. At the very minimum expect a 3 grand bill.

OK, I went to pick up the wife yesterday and was waiting for her in the parking lot of her work when I decided to try out what you did in that video. I put in into N, switched the 4wd to 4L and it never went into Low. Lights just blinked and wouldn't engage.

I then tried to put it into 4H and it wouldn't do that either. I put the truck into Drive and tried to move forward but I could tell there was quite a bit of force needed to move forward. I could also hear some gear binding.

I shut the truck off, put it back into 2H and stared it up again, but the 4wd lights were still blinking. I put it into Drive again and moved forward for about 100 feet with it feeling like I was towing a huge trailer. It finally snapped into 4H, then I switched it back into 2H and it returned as normal.

Must be something wrong with it, right?

Sometimes they are jerks. But like everyone else said. Exercise it. I like to feel how heavy my truck is in 4L. It's crazy. Stupid amounts of torque. Change at least once a month if not more depending on what I'm feeling to do.

Keep working it all the time!! 2h, 4h and esp 4L. Mine usually works ok but sometimes acts up. The other day did not want to engage 4h, maybe it was because it was cold, had to stop and do the fwd reverse thing once or twice. And then more recently louder clunk than normal coming out of 4H to 2H but I was going like 40 so maybe that's why. I should just leave it in 4H. Btw always do it when driving in a straight line, maybe that's why your truck felt 'heavy' that last time you tried it where you turning at one point?
Background.. when I bought mine used 4L did not engage and needed actuator replacement under warranty, PO must have never used it here in flat and paved Florida. The new one installed did not work out of the box when they road tested so they had to crack open the case again and put in a second. Now I always engage 4L at least twice a month. (Oh sh*t have not done it recently!:behindsofa Sometimes i sit there in Neutral and flip it in it out of 4L a few times just to exercise.
