This is the second year that we have made the run across the route between Highway 410 and Interstate 90 by only using forest service roads. Here is the route that we took.
We met up in Enumclaw and grabbed some vittles and fuel. Stopped by the ranger station to get our tree permits and then set off for the woods.
We started off by pulling over and getting the obligatory group shot. The rigs included a pair of Tacomas and 3 4runners. John [MENTION=119029]NinjaOne[/MENTION]) and Shawn [MENTION=133166]brokedrifter[/MENTION]) were the other 4runners. The two Tacomas were piloted by my friends from Rally Sweep.
We started up Forest Service road 70 and headed out on our route. We could see the snow in the hill tops.
Part way into the trip we stopped in our normal secret spot and started looking for trees... all 5 rigs found one that suited their needs and we got loaded up and continued back on our journey.
We passed several groups that stopped along the way to have fires and shoot, the common theme was that we should just turn around because there was a big off camber corner that was really slick and we wouldn't make it. Not to be deterred we continued on and figured we would see how bad this spot was and use it as our lunch spot if needed.
After pressing on we got to the unpassable spot in the road and managed to easily get through. It was off camber and at the time we tried to cross it was near white out conditions. I didn't get any photos of the actual crossing as we were all in the thick of making sure everyone got through. Here are some photos of rigs waiting to go across and just after.
After the challenging spot it was smooth sailing and all down hill back to the muddy trails and FS roads. One of the fun stops on the way down is an active tressel. We stopped and took some photos before being adults and getting off the rails.
All made it back to civilization where we either went our own way or grabbed a bite to eat. All in all it was a great trip and everyone was looking forward to next year already for the next attempt.
