2nd Gen 4runner rear differential problems

Decided to replace the rear differential seal on my 1990 t4r for the first time. I followed the necessary steps, used Ultra Blue and it sealed up great, but I am having some trouble now getting the drums back on the wheels, my e-brake isnt engaged and all seems fine but the drum wont fit over the brakes. I forced one sides drum on but then noticed the wheel didnt spin when I turned the drive shaft, so I took it off and noticed that when I spin one wheel the other wheel goes in the opposite direction....so now im just baffled. What do I do?

Try loosening up the adjustment on the brake shoes a bit so the drum will slide on, than readjust them as needed.
And the wheel spin thing is normal with an open diff.
