have any of you made half doors for your second gens? i have a set of stock 2nd gen doors that i want to convert into half doors and any advice, pictures, etc would be appreciated. thanks in advance

i tried to find FOGs build thread but couldnt. (very new to the forums so not sure how to navigate them properly yet) anyway this is a photo of my truck and the red line on the drivers door is pretty much the design/cut i want on the half doors i want to make. i want to keep the door handle, the mirror, and the top outer edge of the door. basically i just want to cut out that middle part and cover the gap with some sheet metal and paint the door black. any opinions/suggestions?

Doors I made for my "2nd gen" I found I likes running no doors, so these havent been finished yet. But before I cap off the tops, Im going to cut them down a few more inches.
Im going to cut the top of the door off, and make the cut go all the way to the back along the top of the white stripe.
No doors ftw.

at one point in his build thread he almost did half doors but got a deal on the tube. so your not entirely off.

I dont really see the point if you want half doors then just roll your window down. The tube doors are cool but half doors i dont see a huge benefit.

The benefit is the huge amount visibility you gain from not having the door in the way, but keeping enough of the door to still protect you. Your shoulder has room to move over as you look out. Its amazing. I found an extra set of doors on Cl for $50, so with a little time it can be done cheap.
