the radio in my 4runner sometimes goes AWOL. Occasionally, the screen goes blank and won't turn off. This occurs both when I start up the vehicle or just while driving. The sound high a really high pitch continuous beep, that will not give me a break. Usually the only thing that will make it quit is turning off the battery, waiting a lil bit and then restarting it. But sometimes it stops while driving. The thing is that you CAN'T turn off the radio, the screen is blank, and it has no function besides making that loud strenuous beep. Until recently, simply restarting fixes the problem. But now it doesn't work. I tried restarting it many times yesterday, but it didn't work. It beeped for hours and hours! The only thing that made it quickly stop is when I used my breaks and the beep drowned into a static white noise "shhhhhhhhh". The frequency of the "shhh" changed in relation to how much break I was using. But this only lasted a few minutes. Any ideas, guys? I hope so, I'm starting to get scared of my radio!
