2ND GEN representing from NY

This is my first 4Runner but definitely not my first Toyota truck. I mainly post on Yotatech and I joined here last year but had problems with the site and I had problems with my computer and forgot about this place. Anyways, I have a lifted 94 4Runner that I bought from a member on Yotatech. It has a 4" Superlift on it with 4.56 gears. I'm looking for 35" tires to go on next. Since I'm in NY, I have been looking everywhere but no luck. Here are the pics:

awesome 4runner!!! are those not 35's on it now cause they look huge!! and would you say that it is a sluggish engine? everyone tells me the 2nd gens are super slow but i have yet to test drive one. im hoping they arent cause i really want one and want to lift it. also do u off road a lot? if so are those rear control arm drop down bracketts not always banging stuff? it looks like they would get destroyed in a heart beat. i know all the bracket lifts have em and they just look scary to me. thanks!

I just upgraded from 18 years in a 2nd gen to a 3rd and I can tell you there is a huge difference in response and zippyness between the two. My 2nd never really bothered me though, and I always ran with ECT on so it felt more sporty....both are v6.

The biggest feel difference other than speed is the 2nd feels much heavier to me. The doors are definitely heavier than the 3rd. The 3rd's handling also feels much more sensitive. Ive been like a squirrel driving for a couple days now trying to get used to it, but that could be the difference in tires I suppose.
 
okay well ill be going from 4.7 liter to 3.0 liter. haha but thats what i have to do since im so set on having a 4wd to wheel. haha. i like the feel of older cars especially the doors cause they are all made with heavier and stronger materials. i dont really care for speeding around and crap like that. im buyin one for the 4wd to lift not to lower and try to street race.
 
Sorry about the late reply. Yes those are 35" tires with stock 4.56 gears with a manual transmission. It is sluggish but I do drive it every day. I would recommend anyone who is keeping the 3.0 to do a gear swap if you are going to run big tires.

I did not off road the truck much since I got it but when I did I had no problems with anything hitting. I think the issue is when you are going over big rocks which hit the drop bracket.

nice.... that thing is awesome.... i really like that but everyone says it is so slow with stock tires. still they they look great and yours is one of the best i have seen that hasnt ben SAS'd. love the wheel and tire choice
