2nd gen roof rack ideas?

I see a lot of posts for later 'Runners, but nothing so far for my 1990. I am in need of a roof rack. It seems I may need to mount it directly to the roof with bolts...a thought I do not like, but I know how to do it right if I have to.

Does anyone have any experience or thoughts on this application?

I love my yakima roof rack. Its mounted to the side rails of my 94. Its so strong and versitile, its not even funny.

No Rack

One Kayak, CB antenna, Hi-lift Jack, Pull-Pal

Double kayaks

2 Military storage boxes, Hi-Lift, CB antenna

Hi- Lift, CB antenna

Spare Tire Mount, Hi-Lift

Hi-lift, CB antenna, Pull-Pal

I also plan to mount some lights to the rack in the near future
And its off or on in 5 minutes.

Roof Rack

I am looking for one also and am trying to find one the length of the entire roof. Planning a cross country trip late March 05, 10,000 miles or so and need as much external storage as possible. Any one have any ideas ? :awais:
