2nd gen seats in a 1st gen

I know someone who is junking a '94 T4r and was hoping the front seats would bolt in to my '86. Does anyone know if the bolt holes are the same? Also is there any other seats that would bold right in that I might be able to find at the junkyard(Like from a Toyota pickup). Thanks!

I put seats from a 92 into my 89. If I remember correctly, 3 of the 4 bolts will line up and there is one hole that is plugged now that you can use to bolt the seat down. It takes about an hour to do the swap. Just drill another hole for the one that doesn't line up. Oh, don't try and flex the frame of the seat to get it to line up. You will end up stressing the sliding mechanism....I know!
For the back, you can swap the cushions from a 2nd gen onto your 1st gen frames. It will clean up the interior and your seats will match. This takes about 6 hours to do though.
