Proud new owner of 1990 T4R rig!

Hi! Purchased off CL 7/17/13, $2k cash. Just needed tune up, head gasket, oil change, slapped on new Kenda Klevers and a front alignment, 172k original miles, clean title.
Haven't driven my FJ since!

No I bought the $30 ones for $15 each pair. haha. Could probably use another pair or two.

I grabbed this '93 last weekend.

It's about to turn 180k.

One owner.

All stock (3.0, auto).

Exterior is good (little clear coat damage). Interior looks almost new (sans one dash crack and worn upholstery on the drivers bolster).

Looks like a very nice/clean runner. Just out of curiosity, how much did you pay for it? No worries if you do't want to say.

I don't mind.

I paid $4,700 (and the cost of a plane ticket).

It wasn't the steal of the century, but it just had the timing belt serviced (including water pump) and new tires. The tires are about $1k and I priced the timing belt at $1,100 locally (shop fees are very high around here).

I also didn't mind paying a little extra for a Texas truck. Plus, it's Carfax (no wrecks) show that it was always serviced on time and all the recommended maintenance was always done.

I looked at (and drove) some cheaper ones, but they were ragged out. I could have saved around $1k-$1.5k, but would have spent much more in timing belt, tires, front end (all felt loose), and god knows what else.

If everything is tight, no rust, good tires ... etc - I'd say you got a bargain.

She'll run for another 500K with good maintenance.

Beat on mine in the middle of a 700+ mile trip of rallying and shooting. Drive home with no issues.

Almost have it broken down enough to get it fixed and start putting shit back together.

While you have it tore down that much, consider replacing that water bypass tube that goes down the middle. I've heard they can be cause for coolant leaks that are a pain.

Yeah, most of my hoses back there are bad. I went to the auto parts store the other day and bought a couple things of hose. Almost everything that isn't oil or gas is getting replaced with silicone hose. My radiator hoses are in decent shape though.

I am also having the timing belt replaced.
