My 2nd gen was a heap when i got her so much work done on her to get her going and still more to do.
My first 4 runner, first 4x4 and only second car ever.
Top pick is when we got her the bottom is a few months ago.

Well after a nine week delay I finally got my hands on this old gal. And in a weird but neat turn of fate I ended up moving to Baja, after scoring this really cool cheap beach house. Anyways after changing the oil and filter in Hell-A and adjusting the clutch pedal play a bit , I took a gamble, loaded her up and headed to Ensenada. And I must say, the difference between this girl with the 5 speed versus the other one we had with the automatic is beyond night and day. Like this one can actually get out of it's own way without needing a tail wind. She's almost peppy. Not sure if it's the valve job the p/o did to her last year or if it's just a great combo of 31" tires with the 4:56 gears......but I am quite impressed with her performance----relatively speaking. Here's some pics of her new home near Punta Banda......lots of off roading opportunities here.....including the beach. Next up after the gear oil(s) change are rod holders on the front and rear bumpers. Just for the halibut......

Oh yeah, btw, any of you here ever find yourselves in Ensenada and need a place to stay for a night or so, I've got lots of room at the new house. Safe, security, quiet and just a two minute walk to the water on either side of the peninsula.......

Got my first t4r in march this year. Her curves up front drove me wild so i couldn't resist picking her up in that parking lot off the freeway in small town texas. I even treated her real classy and bought her some new shoes out first date even though she has gotten around . (Cali, Kentucky, and Texas) Anyway she needs a bit of work but has been treating me great so far. Even though I've slapped her around on occasion. Haha.

Finally got some time to put her to the test-----threw some tools in the back (and a big shovel), dropped tires down to 16 psi and test flew her on the pretty soft beach sand 'road' along the estero. Front axle worked excellent as did the t-case....no grinding, no expensive noises and the old gal just seemed to float on this stuff. Next week is attempting the other side of the sand spit, where the waves are. Only access there (near me) is a hundred and fifty foot long, slight downhill REAL soft beach sand trail, until you make it to the much harder stuff along the high tide line. Kinda hoping to lasso one of our security guards here with a nice 1st Gen to stand as a backup for me in case I have trouble getting back up. Will post pics of experiment, regardless of the outcome.....

Picked this up last weekend. CL deal. Will be for off road use only. Have plans for either an auto locker or spool and a winch (+/-8000lb). Need to get the 4wd working first.
