Interchangeable parts

Hello All,
Question. Are all if not most 2nd Gen 4Runner parts interchangeable with one another. 1990 with 1993, or 1993 with 1995, etc...?

To my knowledge: yes.

But there are some differences. Like the earlier (90-92ish) grilles and front bumper are different from the later ones.

Interior upholstery are different patterns as well, while still being the same color. So be careful when looking for door panels or head rests as the color may match but the pattern could be off.

Otherwise, they're pretty much the same across the board to my knowledge.

94 4runner

I have a 94 4runner and am looking to do a suspension upgrade. To be honest I don't know where I should start as far as what to get. Not looking for anything too crazy..just a good ride and of course something to hold up to a little off-road adventure. Any help is appreciated.

Id personally go right first. Haha. Just messin with you. They should fit with out a lift and only minor trimming. Lift as much as necessary, as little as possible.



Bummer about the alpines. Ive always had nothing but good luck with them.

Does anyone know what center caps will fit on 2wd 2nd gens with OEM wheels? I have 3rd gen wheels right now, but I'm switching them out for 2nd gen's. I've seen a few different options on ebay.

Thanks, frank. I'm surprised how hard it is to find info on OEM 1st/2nd gen wheels and parts-compatibility in general. There has to be somewhere with all this info..

That's actually what I'm interested about - can you swap grill and headlights? I have 2nd gen 94, but I really like earlier square design

18 city 20 highway, check the last post in my build through my signature for a more detailed list of what I did as far as MPG stuff goes.
