Looking for a recommendation on what exhaust system to get on my 2nd gen 94’ 4Runner 3.0 v6 would you go with the Flowmaster again? Or something different?

A previous owner of my 94 installed a Borla and it sounds really good imo.

edit: I mean, as good as a dog slow 3.0o can sound. Definitely sounds much better than my wife's 2008 tamed down 4.0

Just Bought A Hobby

Hey, I've looked on the 4runner threads for awhile, but I just got a 95 V6 (175K) and was wondering if y'all had any thread recommendations for clutch replacement info and general maintenance/rejuvenation work? It was the previous owner's DD, but it certainly needs some work.
(Also let me know if I'm doing something wrong on this forum)

Hey Gang,

New to the forums. Posting this to get some input and advice. Found a '95 4runner 5-spd 3.0 V6 about 10 miles away from me. Appears to have only been owned in Arizona. Don't need a daily driver but want a clean slate that is good for weekend camping adventures and long trips. Will make mods soon to go play in the mud and dirt.

Private seller is asking $8000 obo. Here are the stats:
Second owner
Originally purchased in Tucson
180k 'highway' miles
New exhaust and cat
Wheels balanced
New battery
New Alt
New fan belts

Said check engine light has been coming on so his mechanic is doing complete "tune up" before he'll let me test drive it. This would be my 4th Toyota Truck or 4runner. I feel confident inspecting / test driving the car. I'll ask about the water pump, timing belt, inspect the fluids, CV boots, transfer cases, cat, etc. when I test drive it. Looks very clean in photos. (See attached from online ad. There are a few more I can post, if it helps in your response.)

If I offer $6000, is that too high in your opinion? '95 isn't the year I would prefer, but if it's as clean as it looks online and he's had it tuned up, I think it might be worth it.

Any input is appreciated. Looking forward to many more posts here!

Can't recall if I replied to this and I know i'm 3 months late but if you haven't bought already for that price you could get a Land Cruiser or 4th gen 4Runner.

Stepped up to 35s (from 33s) yesterday, and went out to the dunes in Pismo today. Tires seem great so far, and the dunes driving was fun, never done that before!

Originally it was a 3.0 with an auto, now it's a 3.4 with a 5 speed. Night and day difference with the added torque and HP. Truck gets up to speed quick and comfortably holds it on the highway without having to down shift. A no brainer swap if you have the time. You can snag a 3.4 for any junk yard for $200 and spend another $300 freshening it up and she'll run forever.

Do you know anything about friendship between stock KZN130 axles and 1UZ-FE vvti engine?

I wanna swap it,but not sure will axles live long with engine that +100N.m more power.

That is the swap I want to do also. I think the Toyota axles will hold up to V8 power. Plenty around if you do break one.

The new 4Runners have 280 HP and the axles appear the same size so I doubt you will break one.

Picked it up from local truck stop. They are packed full of CB goodies.
I will do a v2 soon, the antenna isn’t long enough to get over the roof rack so reception is spotty when I’m leading. I like the fact that it comes out of the factory radio antenna hole for the aesthetics but I worry it will catch a tree and whip into the windshield. More than likely moving it to the roof and I’ll use its current spot for the snorkel. (5vz intake is on the passenger side)
