2nd gen with leather interior?

I have searched the posts for any info on a 2nd gen with leather interior.
I gave the original owners son a ride the other day, and he informed me that his dad redid the interior in leather at the tune of $5k!! do you think this is true or is the kid just blowing smoke?

A 1990 4runner wouldn't have come stock with leather seats. I'm pretty sure leather seats weren't introduced until 94 or 95. 5K for leather seats sounds way too much, but a 3rd gen post was saying they could get the all seats and panels done for 1500, so he might be exaggerating or the guy got ripped off.

thanks for the reply, he did say this was when it was new... and the seats are leather, front, back and panels. 5k does not seem too unreasonable in NYC in the early 90's
unfortuneately, they werent taken care of.
