hrm hi i'm new to this site and new to offroading as i just purchased my 05 4runner. I just wanted to know, how far do you think you can take a 2wd 4runner with Bridgestone tires to its limits? Also when you go offroading why do you have to air down the psi on each tire, wouldn't the TPM system turn on? Please help...

Hey welcome to the board. I can't answer your question about the limits of a 2WD 4Runner as I haven't even taken my 4WD on any "hairy" trails so I'll leave that to the experts.
You would air down the tires when going offroading so that the tires can grip the surface (rocks, sand, gravel, etc) aka increasing traction. This especially is usefull for rock crawling as the tire will somewhat deform around the rock.
Just ignore the TPMS if it comes on but make sure you air back up to the proper temperature before going back on the paved road.

Thanks for the reply it really helps... Also sincce I live in FL, during the Hurricane seasons as flood waters rise a lot, i was reading some threads on a device which lets your car go through high waters, without flooding out the engine, i believe it's located somewhere near the Spare tire...?

it should have it. The thing is is that it opens right where the differential is. Now if the diff is under water there is a chance that it may take in some dirt. What the mod does is it extends the opening higher (some have it going to the gas cap) so that when the breather opens, it is opening to the air and not under water.
in that thread posted is the directions for DIY. I'm not sure if the dealer will provide this service, but I guess you could ask.
