maybe a billet grille? tailights, clear corners, and bumpers? an exhaust system?

you could probably almost get all for 500

Search Ebay for LED tails, LED 3rd brake light, grilles, clear corners, clear bumper lens.

You could also do an interior LED conversion as I did on my 02:

Doesnt matter if its 2wd or 4wd, the 3rd gen always looks good with brush and tail guards.

thanks

I'm trying to go with function over form so I think im gonna go with intake/exhaust. how much mpg/power increase could I expect?

You won't get much HP gain out of an intake or exhaust.

I would just do the deckplate mod unless you feel like wasting $200.

Are you going to do just a muffler or a whole new exhaust system?

just gonna save myself the embarassment of having someone else correct me. thought you said the decklight mod. deckplate. got it.

Lol. :p

Just do a search and you will find tons of info about the deckplate mod. It costs about $20 and it pretty simple.

So your going to do a high flow cat? Maybe 2.5" pipes. Dual exit? Many people on here use one of three exhausts: Cherry Bomb Vortex, Flowmaster 40, and Magnaflow.

yeah i've been reading up on the post comparing the three. i was hoping to keep the single exhaust i like that look much better. and id go for the least ricer sounding muffler (low deep sound would be great)

yeah. itll be a few weeks till i actually get something done so I have time to compare. but thanks for your help

Or go the visual route... Sunroof wind deflector, hood bug deflector, upgrade stock light bulbs. Money to spare for the exhaust work.

The deckplate mod probably adds a few seat-of-the-pants RWHP. I added a piece of metal window screen clamped to the inside of the deckplate to keep some of the larger "chunkies" from entering the airbox.
