So, I own a 2003 2WD SR5 V6 4Runner and I wish it was 4WD, but when the car was bought, I had no intentions of going off-roading with it. Im sure people with 2WD 4runners have asked this before, but has anyone ever made a list of everything needed to convert a 2WD to 4WD. I know it will be pricey and time consuming, but that isnt an issue for me. I am an automotive student, with access to just about anything possibly needed, so resources and tools aren't really a problem, and I also have access to AllDataPro.
I figured the easiest way to do the conversion would be to buy a wrecked/totaled 2003 4WD 4runner and swap the parts that way. The only thing I need help with I guess would be a parts list of the components that would need to be swapped out.
I know that most people are gonna tell me to just sell my 4runner and buy a 4WD 4runner, but if those comments could be kept from being posted, it would be appreciated. It's not a guaranteed project that I'm gonna do, but it would be nice to know what all would be required to do this conversion. Any and all possible help (links, pictures, build threads, ect.) would be greatly appreciated.
