3.0 To 3.4

Does anyone know where I can find rebuilt 3.4 engines that are ready to run with the ecu and wiring harness so I can swap out my 3.0? I found a shop that can do the whole thing ready to go for 4000. Is that worth it?

Or for $4,000 + the cost of an engine, you could just buy a truck with the 3.4 already in it.

Engine swaps are worth it if you have a flawless truck and/or can do the work yourself. Otherwise, it's not worth the cost.

Thats 4,000 with the engine. I can do it myself, I am just worried about finding an engine that runs well and getting the wiring hiress and ecu that works. If I can find all of that for a decent price thats rebuilt and ready to go, im more then happy to do it myself.

I agree with dingman.. Id say just buy a 3rd gen and just put another 3.0 or rebuild the 2nd gen and sell that to make up the difference of buying a 3rd gen.. If you do it your self its not going to cost anything close to $4,000.. prob about $600-$1500 for the motor which you can try and find on ebay, craigslsit, google shopping... than a head gasket kit, waterpump, bets, rings, main seals, and a knock sensor..
