ahhhh its a shitty time of year to dangle a TRD blower in my face...haha

i could get my whole family presents...or just get a present for my truck...this is a tough one :driving:

Heads up!

ok... was going to keep this a secret for myself:satan:

but have decided i wont be getting one for a while..

minneapolis craigs list has had two listed on there for about six months.

and if i recall ( havent looked at them for a month) they were both under $1000

one had 34,000 on it and included everything..

:bluejump:

wont want one once u factor in the cost to make it work ... you got a auto tranny ? gonna need to do the valve body upgrade thats like a grand then the fuel mods and tuning cost

I don't think the valve body upgrade is necessary unless you really thrash your truck with the S/C on it. I've driven one with a "messed up" valve body and the only real issue is that it shifts a little slow into 2nd gear

as long as you realize it's a truck and not a sports car and don't drive it like one, you can install the supercharger alone without any negative repercussions. The engine is built for it.

LOL and thats why I dont buy one! LOL, I think that with the way I drive my 4runner now, that putting a supercharger on it would be a death sentence for my engine!

haha, I was looking at that exact one just 10 mins ago. Deffinately a good deal.

you dont have to do all the upgrades to make it work, but if your 4runner has over 100,000 miles it's deffinately a good idea. Make sure you get the TRD gasket. I used the standard Toyota gasket and blew it within 6 months.

i have 98K on my supercharger, i installed it when i bought the truck back in 2001. the only other upgrade that i did that didn't come included with whatever the kit included was the trd exhaust. the kit came with a boost guage. i don't know anything about valve or other upgrades or tuning. when they installed it they said it would take about 1000 miles for the system to learn the supercharger and that it would be fully integrated.

i did not do any suspension upgrades. i realized that the T4R is not a sports car and shouldn't be tried to make into one. it can't handle corners like a car can. i also don't drive it hard or tow.

one thing that just happened over thanksgiving. my trd chrome tip had some surface rust on it. but it was a welded on tip, not a bolt on. i came home that night and noticed that the tip was gone!!!! so now i am driving around without an exhaust tip.

There is a fuel problem that TRD absolutley won't admit but other than that you're absolutely right. As a matter of fact, almost anything you do to a vehicle will take about 300 miles-ish to re-learn a/f mixtures and stuff like that. Believe it or not, even putting in a new air filter will but your vehicles computer into re-learn mode.
