3.4 Swap guide?

Well, just picked this guy up a few days ago.

180k, threw a rod. (Previous owner). However has a brand new OME lift, new tires, brakes, filters, bumper, tint... Just needs a motor.

So I'm a few hours in, radiator is out, battery, fans, fluids drained... Just before I start putting some hours in tonight and pull this bad boy, anyone have a writeup on bolt for bolt which to remove and such?

Not that I can't do it blindly but a guide always helps.

Honestly I'm undecided weather or not to pull the manifold or not. I'm replacing it with a used motor and I assume it doesn't have accessories.

Thoughts? Also where did you attach for the cherry picker?

Just unbolt it at the crosspipe. It's 3 studs.

I used a JDM engine, so it came with all the accessories - for a minivan. Had to swap everything...

AC compressor was the only hard accessory to remove for me.

I attached an old seatbelt to the exhaust headers and yanked the engine out that way. Pretty ghetto but it works great. (Actually the JDM engine came with that seatbelt)

Also, if the engines are different years, you may need to keep the original throttle body. My 1997 was different from the 2004.

Just pulled the exhaust manifold and flywheel bolts. Re reading the thread again to see if I missed anything before I yank the starter and start hooking up the cherry picker.

Just unbolt it at the crosspipe. It's 3 studs.

You already got the engine to tranny bolts? Those 2 top ones can be a *****.

Check for all the grounding wires, when I started yanking mine I realized that I missed one.

Still in the box, just taking my time with the harness and vacuum lines.

However, have the chains wrapped around the exhaust manifolds, balancer is on. Torque plate is unbolted, basically mount mounts and bell housing bolts and she's outta here.
