3.4l transfer case difference between manny and auto?

Looks like the manual trans transfer case is missing the neutral indicator switch and low switch... the switches can probably just be swapped in for the blanking plugs if needed.

On a manual trans:
- Neutral switch isn't needed (as a warning when the trans is in park)
- Low switch isn't needed (to change the shift patterns on the auto trans)

Also note that the shift lever used with a manual transmission goes up and to the right, not up and to the left. It is 90* off, not 180* off, which is why there was an issue with the shift boot when rotating it 180*.

You are right. I just need that 4wd sensor to activate the ADD. Cool, I don't have to swap out the transfer case after all.

The point is the TC shifter is different on the MT trucks... Not just installed 180* out.

After reading this thread, I'd have to say 'yes'.

I occasionally think about putting an AWD mode t-case on my '99 5-spd, but the effort seems fairly high for an AWD mode I'd probably rarely use. I'm more likely to put a Marlin tacobox on it.

Do you currently have a normal j-shift transfer case? Is the transfer case you want to swap in a normal j-shift transfer case? A normal j-shift transfer case will not have a button on the side of the transfer case shift lever knob.
