3" lift

I just bought a 3" lift through OME for my 99. Is there anything i need to worry about as far as rollover is concerned? I am also wondering how hard they are to put on. I plan on doing it in my garage with a shock compressor form autozone.

Yes. Rolling over is bad. Your mirrors will be smashed, almost all panels will get damaged including the roof. Glass will smash and go everywhere! It will be horrible.
Make sure you are wearing your seatbelt. :p

should be pretty easy with a good set of spring compressors...i use chain grips too...helps a LOT...if ya got em

good luck! i got 2.5", not a big difference in ride or roll...

I was told that toyota shocks will overload the spring compressors because average spring compressors are rated at 150lb and toyota uses springs that are rated at 600lb, is that true?
 
I haven't heard that stuff, but coil spring compressors can be tricky to use and a bit dangerous if used incorrectly. When you rent it try and get someone to instruct you on its proper usage.

i havent heard of that...and mine went fine, no problems...i have 2 pairs of the "mcpherson" type...the kind that hook outside

SO i have a total of 4 compressors on one spring, plus I use chain grips to hold it tight...i take extra precautions but its also faster :D
 
I rented two spring compressor kits from Advance Auto Parts. They have two different kinds of compressors so make sure you get the kind that go on the outside of the spring. I had to use three actual spring compressors (1.5 kits) to compress the front springs enough to get the shock mount back on. If you have access to an impact, that will help in running the compressors down. I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.

The rear is simple, just don't do what I did and forget to unbolt the sway bar. I couldn't figure out for the life of me why the axle wouldn't drop any!!:bash:

I wish i had an impact wrench when i was working on my fronts...

the NEXT day i was so sore from all the work of the previous day... BUT it was totally worth all the effort!!!

it's a bad pic but mine is the one on the LEFT, went from 265/75 to stock 265/70 looks much better more fender clearance

I got that lift put on last night. It took 2 sets of compressors, some wrenches, air compressor, impact wrench, and a 2x4board to get them in place. But it looks and rides great. Thanks for the info.

I tried retaking the picture but i turned the quality on the camera down. The picture is now 640 x 480 and 143kb. But it still says that the picture is too big. Because i am using iphoto, i do not know how to turn the size of the pic down. Does anyone have any ideas?
