3 to 5 beeps????

When I turn my 2004 4runner off, I get what sounds like 3 to 5 beeps.

Does anyone have any idea why this is happening?

It does not happen all the time but it started about 3 weeks ago. I check do see if there are any codes on the computer but there were none.

I have less the 40k on the truck.

Any help would be great.

I've never heard any beeping after turning off the truck. Do you have any aftermarket electronics on your truck? Maybe an alarm or something of that sort?

... or a new radio? I've got a Sony in another car that beeps after you turn the key off to remind you to remove the faceplate. (Yes, it's an annoying feature. It's not that expensive to warrant that much paranoia.)

Thanks, for the posts, but

I installed a OEM Nav system about 6 months ago, and the beeps started about 3 months after that.

They continue to change (the amounts of beeps) Some time there are no beeps, sometimes only 1,2,3,4,5.
