3" Toytec Lift

Hi all,

I'm considering using some of my tax money to put a Toytec 3" lift on my TE.

Questions:

1. I was hoping to keep my 32" Duratracs and stock TE wheels. Do you think they will look ok, or will they look small? My goal is more ground clearance and more space between fenders and tires, but without having to go bigger tires, new wheels and/or spacers.

2. Anyone in the Central MD area interested in helping me install the lift? I'd be willing to pay, but I'd want to get the hands-on experience. I've never done it before.

My 2 cents would be that your tires will look BETTER with the lift than before

the thing to consider when lifting is what you plan on doing with it. if you just want to fit bigger tires, go with the lift you're considering. If you want a better suspension (more travel, etc.) then you may want some different springs up front, or a coilover, rather then the spacer.

How was the install? I'm hoping to get the same lift kit here very soon and was wondering about the difficulty level of the install. I wan't to figure out if I can do this myself and save the $400 I'd have to pay a pro shop to do it for me.

Can anyone speak to the level of difficulty of installing this lift, and what is the most difficult step of the install?

I would say the hardest part of install is the front spacers since you will either have to rent a spring compressor, or take your coilovers to a shop to have the spacer installed into the coilover. But defnitely the front on this project.
