30,000 service

i have 27000 miles on my car and will need to do my 30000 service soon. i have been debating if i should do it myself or have dealer do it.

i think i'm going to let dealer change the plugs and oil and i'll change my own engine filter and cabin filter. am i forgetting anything?

i used to change my own oil when i lived with my parents because i was driving 5k/month and we had all the tools. since i got married and my runner, i've always let dealer change my oil because i don't drive as much anymore (1~2k/month) and don't want to get the tools. i'm going to let dealer do the plugs too since i only have to do it every 18 months and i don't want to spend money getting all the tools. what do you guys think?

I let the stealer do the plugs, but did the other stuff myself (engine air fitler, in-cabin filter, engine oil & filter, chassis lube, etc.).

A move to synthetic gear lube will basically eliminate the need to do it at 60k miles. (Front, rear and center) This will save you in the future.

The spark plugs can be changed if you have about 2 hrs of time on your hands. It's not all that difficult, but you'll need a few extensions and elbows to tighten the plugs.

If it costs over $100 for the plugs at the dealer, I suggest doing them yourself.

Oh baloney. Don't let getting married domesticate you! LOL. The cost of the tools will pay for themselves in no time and you'll find that you can use them for other projects as well.

I can't fault you for letting the dealership do the work though, I don't have a garage so sometimes it's just easier if I let the dealership service my truck. I don't mind doing it when it's warm out, but I don't crawl under the truck in the winter.
