3000 miles, ATL to Seattle with a 6x10, TR4 V8 via Rockies, Yellow Stone

This was my first time towing anything, I didn't even know how to hook the trailer but had no problems on our 3000 mile trip, the trailer has e-brakes and I installed a Tekonshe 3, big help

Yellow stone and Rockies took a little more skill, lots of engine braking and light brake taps, a 2 year old grizzly was trotting along in YS and we were able to get a movie clip, also got sandwiched b/w daddy buffalo and a canyon, I think he was being protective of the calf and I was worried for a sec that he was going to hit us, also saw cpl of mooses (driving late into the morning hours)...

There were strong winds in western KY, CO and wind farms for miles, got hailed in Montana but the V8 is such a champ

Anyone else who is inexperienced in towing and needs to move long distance, my .02....pickup a used trailer rather than wasting rent on uhaul (was going to be $800 for me) and then just sell the trailer when you get there...I had posted my plan to tow the trailer on expedetionportal and ppl always make it more negative than it needs to be...

I used to live in San Jose metro so not entirely new to the area, but the move has primarily to do with my field (IT/SW Development) the market is much larger and dynamic in west coast.

Wifey has a lot more pics in her camera, will update and ofcourse no pic set is complete without an adorable dog, this is mickey my cousin's very hyper lab in St. Louis, we became friends shortly after

I realized that it had fallen off just after new grease was put in, nothing was really around and it held up fine

This will be me at the end of August. Jacksonville, FL to Mukilteo, WA. Planning to do the I10/15 route and up through CA. When I went from Seattle to St. Augustine 3 years ago we went through Montana and then down and through Atlanta. SUUUPER boring and not much to see for a majority of the trip but I think we arrived in like 53 hours, non stop, and only a 1 hour nap (my dad is a beast lol). That was done with a 5x8 uhaul trailer and 2000 SE Pathfnder. This next trip will be with 4runner and trailer. Can't wait to get home!
