3000 miles on my Runner

Hi, I just wanted to share my opinion on my 06 4 Runner.
I decided in October to take my Runner on a long Business trip.
I Drove From El Paso Texas to Mexico City. A total of 1200 miles each way.

One thing is to drive on the nice US roads and another is to Drive the Actual Carrera panamericana highway, which is pretty demanding.
All in all the Toyota left me speachless. Not a single rattle developed. Nothing is wrong with it. I might just say that the only thing that might concern me is the quality of the Dunlop grand treck tires, and that a few months ago I had a blow up on one of them. That was the only thing that got me on the defensive side while driving the car on Highway.
I think I might upgrade to BF goodrich's all terrains(has any one done this tires?)
I spent a month down in Mexico city and the runner is great on the urban jungle and off it too. Mexico city is a very tight city for an SUV the sice of the Runner, but it was pretty easy to get around with it.
It is a very good SUV all in all.

Thanks for the review. That sounds like a great trip.
I just bought the same rig as yours, a 2006 SE V8. I haven't seen it yet. It's at the dealership in Olympia. I'm in Anchorage. It's coming up here by ship in about two weeks.
Then I can drive to Mexico City too!

~11k on mine and the farthest road i have made journey on is just san diego to las vegas. im contemplating if i should drive or fly to phoenix. it sure is fun to drive th 4runner esp. the SE.

You asked about anyone's experience with BF Goodrich tires. I have been using them for years on my past 1984 Toyota pick up, 1990 4Runner and now my 2004 4Runner.

For my use, the BF Goodrich AT tire is the best all round performer. If you get into a lot of mud and snow, the All terrain Muds have more traction and self clean better but you do lose some on road traction and performance. For a good all round 50/50 street and offroad use I highly recomend the BFG AT/KO.

I wish I had taken more photos but here are a couple.
By the way the Runner is pretty good for long trips, its powerfull enough and if you have an Ipod you can't do better.

That is a mean looking Runner, the tires look great!
