30K service some observations

Last night I went threw my 06-V6 now with 30K and I did notice something strange. The old transfer case oil was sort of red in color? different from the front and rear difs? Do you guys think yota puts different fluid in the transfer case than the difs at the factory? Or maybe it was not as dirty as the diff oils?

I changed the plugs but to be honest they looked real good and were not out of gap by much.

My front diff and transfer case were very clean looking, so I just changed the transfer case fluid, which probably wasn't necessary. The rear diff, however, was black. I drive in 4x4 a lot, although I don't know how much the previous owner did. My plugs didn't look bad, either, but I changed them and kept the purchase reciept so the warranty nazi can't hit me later.

Transfer cases typically use the same fluid as automatic transmissions, which is red in color. Check the owners manual to verify (I don't have my 4runner yet) but I'm guessing the transfer case takes the same ATF as your transmission.

ATF (automatic transmission fluid) is dyed red to help identify leaks and to avoid confusion with standard motor oil. It doesn't sound like you have anything to be worried about.
