30mm v 15mm offset

What is the difference in the two offsets, plain english please.

I know the stocks are 30mm but I'm possibly changing to a 20' with 15mm

Galactic's example is accurate, provided you have wheels that are the same width.

Offset just measures the distance the hub mounting surface is from the center of the wheel. The lower the offset number, the further out the wheel will be from the truck.

Most aftermarket 20" wheels are 9-10" wide. Unless you are considering 5th gen wheels, they may be 7.5" wide.
