i've seen a few people runng a 315/75/16 without redoing the gearing but I know people also say that anything over a 33' tire and you have to regear so........for those of you running 315's, how bad is it? are you planning on regearing or leaving it stock?

I've got my heart set on the 315/75/16 duratracs but i'm sure its going to be more problems then its worth so I'm trying to get both sides of the coin before I order tires.

After PMing me and others and the threads I'm more than convinced that you need to get them. Seriously though, at this stage if you're still thinking it's the right thing to do then go ahead and do it. Assuming you have the 3.4...hopefully...I'd bank on the 4:88s to keep you happy. :bigok:

trust me i really want the 315's. Im just not sure i'd be happy with the 285's. On the other hand, I dont want to get the 315's and be like :redbrick: and have them be too big or have to regear for sure. Maybe I will look into gears and see if the price scares me into the 285's

If the runner isn't your DD i would order 2 sets of Yukon 4.88's and pull the diffs yourself. Take them to a local transmission shop and have them installed. Shouldn't set you back a ton. 4.88's are definitely the way to go with 315's in my opinion. Good Luck.

I daily drive my runner with 315's and 4.88's. I like it alot. If your going to do it then do it right. Get the gears. I drove on stock 4.10's while I rounded everything up but I didn't do that very long. Theres no point in half ass doing something. If your going to go with 35's get gears. If you don't want to buy the gears go w/ 255's or 285's. :2cents:

Knowing myself 1 of 2 things will happen......either i'll be too lazy to do the gears or wont have the cash.
